Croydon's 144 army cadet detatchment received 2 laptops this week to aid them with their training. The children and young adults will use the equipment to develop their IT skills and to create prresentations to pass down their knowledge to younger recruits. It will also enable them to progress with their CVQ, a qualification gained through the cadet force, as well as the Duke of Edinburgh award.
The Croydon cadet force also takes part in cybersecurity training, a course designed to teach ethical hacking.
Whenever possible, we recycle IT equipment and pass these on to deserving causes that benefit the local community. The latest batch came from Koestler Arts, a charity that helps offenders rehabiliate through art. The army cadet force is a fantastic organisation and gives youngsters valuable life skills, providing them with a safe space and most of all, a sense of belonging and it's great fun too.
